The superb Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski arena is situated high up in the stunning ötz Valley, this offers high altitude skiing in an area that was recently voted the most snow-sure resort in Europe. The ski area affords a wide range of uncrowded pistes and the lifts start from the village centre making it easy to get up and out on the Mountains early.
Obergurgl is Austria’s highest parish, giving an excellent snow record and a very long season.
Regular scheduled buses to Otztal railway station via the resort of Solden; a number continue on to Imst and Innsbruck. Daily bus up to Hochgurgl. Frequent ski-bus (free with lift pass) shuttles between the lifts in Untergurgl and Obergurgl. Taxis available in centre.

At the southernmost end of the Otz Valley, framed by the Otztaler Alps on 3 sides. Obergurgl and the neighbouring village of Untergurgl lie in the valley while Hochgurgl is higher, on a sunny plateau on the Timmelsjoch Pass road, which is closed to through traffic in winter.

There are a good number of places to eat, drink and have a great time in Obergurgl. All the restaurants serve both local and international dishes. The village has a Supermarket, Bank (with cash points), Pharmacy, Post Office and many shops. The compulsory sports shop will also be found in the village.
